Traveling To New Haven
Information about all transportation options to Yale and New Haven is available on the University's Transportation Options web site.
The most common airports used are John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia in New York, Newark International Airport in New Jersey, and Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT. There is limited service directly to New Haven via Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport.

If you plan to arrive at John F. Kennedy International (JFK) or LaGuardia Airports (LGA) in New York City (NYC), or Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) in Newark, New Jersey, the easiest transportation to the Yale University campus is via GO Airport Shuttle or Connecticut Limousine.

Taxis meet all trains and buses at Union Station in New Haven and cost approximately $12 to campus.

Note: Tip for taxi drivers should average 15% of the total fare depending on the amount of luggage and additional services.
Amtrak offers daily service to New Haven Union Station from Boston and Washington, D.C. via Penn Station in New York, and also services Newark airport. Metro-North Railroad offers frequent service from Grand Central Station in New York to New Haven.
Yale Shuttle Bus
Every weekday, from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., two free shuttle buses operate on a designated campus route. Schedules are available at 221 Whitney Avenue. There is no shuttle service on May 30 or July 4. A Yale ID is required for free transportation. Complete information is available on the Yale Shuttle website.

International students who receive an immigration document (I-20) from Summer Session and are living on campus are automatically enrolled and charged a fee for health insurance coverage in the United States. This is provided by UnitedHealthcare Global (UHC Global). There is a $50 deductible for students studying in New Haven, which means you have to pay for the first $50 if you are billed by a doctor or hospital for services.
You will be enrolled approximately 2 weeks before your session begins.
