Student Bio

Isabela G. Tangioni is a 17-year-old actor from Brazil living in Miami, Florida. Isabela speaks about her experience with the Yale Summer Conservatory for Actors!

"Most days I would get up and head to breakfast at around 8am. My favorite dining hall was Trumbull because it had an awesome fruit spread with grapes (which I love to death)! I was part of the Conservatory for Actors, which included classes such as Text, Movement, Voice, and Acting. Most days would start at 9am and end around 10pm. It was a lot of work, and although it was tiring, I never noticed. I can confidently say that I’ve never had such a rich experience in my life before."

"My favorite class was Acting! My professor, Blake Hackler, alongside my section’s TA, Johnny Reese, were huge inspirations and two of the clearest and direct acting teachers I’ve ever had. I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much in the span of five weeks. Most of my learning wasn’t even from my own performances, but from observing others. I watched my peers rehearse with my professors and took notes, which helped me further develop a technique that I can consistently go back to and access whenever I need."

"My advice for the future students that come here is to savor it! Be a sponge. Enjoy everything, from doing the events that YSS hosts during the weekends, to going to your professor’s office hours to ask that question that’s been bugging you for hours."
