COVID-19 Update

The spread of the COVID-19 virus has affected many communities.  We send those communities and all those affected by the virus best wishes for a speedy return to full health.

As of today, all of Yale Summer Session's New Haven and Online programming and courses are currently scheduled to run as planned. We will have an update on April 6th.

On March 19, 2020, the U.S. suspended visa services at consulates across the world. As a result, applicants to Session A who require visas will not be able to attend Yale Summer Session during Session A.  Any students who have already received I-20 forms will receive refunds of the visa processing fees they paid to Yale Summer Session.  Any students wishing to take online courses may complete a course change form to register for online courses; otherwise, Yale Summer Session will refund their application fee.

The U.S. government has imposed restrictions on travelers from many countries.  We do not know when those restrictions will be lifted.  Yale Summer Session will not accept applications from international students requiring I-20 forms until April 6th, when we will have an update.  Students who have already received I-20 forms should hold their I-20s and wait to pay their SEVIS fees and visa fees until May 15 to make sure that there are no restrictions that would make it impossible for them to attend Yale Summer Session.

Admitted students who are not able to come to Yale Summer Session as a result of travel or visa restrictions enacted by the U.S. government and do not elect to take online courses will receive a full refund of the application and visa processing fees they paid to Yale Summer Session.  Please note, however, that the U.S. government will not issue refunds for SEVIS fees or for non-immigrant visa fees. Yale is not responsible for refunding SEVIS or non-immigrant visa fees.
