Head of Summer Colleges

Dean Chandhoke

Welcome to Yale Summer Session!  As the Head of Summer Colleges for YSS, I oversee residential college life, specifically bringing the social, cultural and educational experiences of the academic year to summer students!  During the academic year, I serve as Dean of Trumbull College and am a faculty member in the Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology department.  I earned my PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.  My love of microscopy and the cytoskeleton led me to the Mooseker laboratory in the Yale MCDB department in 2007, where I worked on a myosin motor protein (Myo9b) implicated in inflammatory bowel diseases.  I then served as course coordinator for the foundational Biology (BIOL) modules for four years (and taught in YSS!).  I enjoy hanging out with my family, going on nature walks and watching comedies & animated movies on Netflix.  I love Coffee Oreo ice cream (with hot fudge!) at Ashley’s.  I look forward to working with our wonderful YSS staff and look forward to meeting you!  Please find me in the dining hall and say hello!
