In-person Course. A comprehensive survey of modern descriptive inorganic and physical chemistry, intended for students with high school preparation in chemistry. Chemical kinetics and thermodynamics, chemical equilibria, acid-base theory, electrochemistry, transition metal chemistry, introduction to organic chemistry. Prerequisite: CHEM S161. The general chemistry courses (CHEM S161/165) with laboratories (CHEM S134L/S136L), meet departmental requirements for the major and are appropriate for students seeking to fulfill medical school requirements.
