Online Course. Elements of statics; mechanical behavior of materials; equilibrium equations, strains and displacements, and stress-strain relations. Elementary applications to trusses, bending of beams, pressure vessels, and torsion of bars. Prerequisite: PHYS 1800 or 2000, and MATH 1150. For college students and beyond. 1 Credit.
