How do I know the start and end dates of my program to book my ticket?

Please note that students may not arrive late to or leave early from any YSS program.

Airports

The most common airports used are John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia in New York, Newark International in New Jersey, and Bradley International in Windsor Locks, CT. Tweed-New Haven Regional is a smaller airport located just outside of New Haven with limited flights during the day.

Tweed-New Haven Regional is a smaller airport located just outside of New Haven with direct flights to a number of cities in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. 

Airport Shuttles

If you plan to arrive at John F. Kennedy International (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), Newark Liberty (EWR) or Bradley International (BDL), the easiest transportation to the Yale University campus is via GO Airport Shuttle.

Buses

Greyhound Bus offers 20 stations across the state with service to New Haven. Local Bus Service is provided by Connecticut Transit.

Parking & Shuttles

Visit Yale's parking page for information on how to park around campus and the Yale Shuttle. Every weekday, from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., shuttle buses operate on a designated campus route. There is no shuttle service on Memorial Day in May or Independence Day, July 4. A Yale ID is required for this free transportation.

Taxicabs

Taxis meet all trains and buses at Union Station in New Haven. Include a tip for taxi drivers of about 15% of the total fare; add an extra $1 to $2 for help with luggage. Uber and Lyft are also widely available in New Haven.

Train

Amtrak offers daily service to New Haven Union Station from Boston and Washington, D.C. via Penn Station in New York, and also services Newark airport. Metro-North Railroad offers frequent service from Grand Central Station in New York City to New Haven.
