From First to Final Draft: Find Your Voice at Yale This Summer

The Yale Writers' Workshop (YWW) offers an exceptional opportunity for writers at all levels to hone their craft in a dynamic, supportive environment. Guided by Yale faculty and experienced instructors, participants engage in hands-on writing exercises, thoughtful feedback sessions, and in-depth discussions that strengthen both technique and voice. Whether you’re exploring new genres or deepening your existing practice, YWW provides a vibrant community and the tools to grow as a writer.

In This Section

Session I is a five-day immersive program that includes five workshop meetings, offering writers sustained, focused engagement with their craft. Dates: Sunday, May 31 – Friday, June 5.

Session II offers a five-day intensive experience designed to deepen your writing practice through another sequence of five workshop meetings. Dates: Sunday, June 7 – Friday, June 12.

Yale Young Writers' Workshop offers a writing workshop for high school students. We offer in person and online writing workshops for high school students ages 16–18.

This exclusive two-week workshop, available only to Yale Writers' Workshop alumni, is designed for writers working on book-length projects in fiction or nonfiction.

Led by Yale Writers’ Workshop faculty, these small online groups help writers continue to grow, share their work, exchange feedback, and stay connected to the YWW community after the summer session ends. Open to YWW alumni only.
